Barnes RFC Big Lift raises 7 Million KG and £157,000 for Charity in 1 day

THANK YOU to all the Barnes Minis, Juniors and Colts players and their families and friends who pulled together on an epic day for the Barnes Rugby Club. In the memory of Garry Garret and raising funds for the fantastic NHS, the club collectively lifted over 7 million KG from ground to over head height. At the end of the day, on Saturday, 2nd May 2020, we had also raised over £100,000 from donations. The continued media interest, with a wonderful article from Owen Slot in the Times on Monday, 4th, meant the final sum raised was an epic £157,000.

The statistics are incredible, showing how Barnes Minis, Juniors and Colts can mobilise behind a worthy cause as “One Club”. A total of 1,894,161 KG was lifted by the Minis, Juniors and Colts, generated by the following number of people in the Youth sections of the club:
Minis (U5-U11): 337 people
Juniors (U12-U16) 382 people
Colts (U17-U18): 49 people
TOTAL: 768 people lifting
